As the number of videogamers inevitably increases so too will human fatality rates according to one advertising campaign from the UK Government.
The Change4Life campaign shows a mere child playing a PlayStation console is heading for an early grave. Why? That's so simple, because you "just do nothing." Cakes murder too.
The advert tries to point out that videogames provide no exercise whatsoever and will lead to sumo fat kids who'll probably need one or two heart transplants by the age of 17. The campaign is backed by the British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research and Diabetes UK.
Obviously going for the shock value and attempting to demonise both videogames and the joy of eating scrumptious cakes, the UK Government would rather petrify kids showing things they like will kill them rather than tell the parents to get off their rears and do some parenting in the fresh air down at the park.
Obviously the message is get some exercise and use restraint when gaming so you don't pull a 48-hour Zelda binge. Sony is likely a little displeased they've had both a disease and child serial-killing linked to their beloved console platform.
The Government's own commissioned Byron Review has already concluded there are no substantial links between videogames and obesity. Remember: eletronic-based fun and cakes KILL!
