EA’s The Sims 3 has secured itself atop the British PC chart, and enjoyed the fourth largest opening week for a PC game on the shores of Blighty.
The other games to get such big receptions their opening weeks were World of Warcraft’s two expansions and Championship Manager 4. Brits are Sims mad, no thanks to soap-operas.
The Sims 3 has also pitched the top spot across all platforms, with THQ’s Red Faction: Guerrilla landing in second place, and EA Sport’s UFC 2009: Undisputed in third.
Here is the UK Top 10 right now:
1.The Sims 3 (EA)
2.Red Faction: Guerilla (THQ)
3.UFC 2009: Undisputed (THQ)
4.EA Sports Active (EA)
5.Wii Fit (Nintendo)
6.Infamous (SCEE)
7.Pokemon Platinum (Nintendo)
8.Guitar Hero: Metallica (Activision Blizzard)
9.Virtua Tennis 2009 (SEGA)
10.Terminator Salvation (Warner Bros.)
Yes we have a soft spot for Pokemon too, and even Terminator Salvation is getting some action by the looks of things - well, the movie is proving to be a bigger hit over here in Europe than in the States.
