Gordon Van Dyke, Battlefield 1943’s producer, has said they aren’t working on any DLC for the title yet because they’re just too busy with Battlefield 3 and Bad Company 2.
He stresses it’s ”not ruled out” but that there’s ”a lot of pressure” on the studio for their next two big titles. The team don’t want to be stretched thin and bang out something ”not up to quality.”
”We don’t have any immediate plans right now, but it’s not ruled out. There’s a lot of pressure on the team for Battlefield 3 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 … we don’t want to stretch things too thin and make something that’s not up to quality,” Van Dyke told Joystiq.
”Battlefield 1943 is a huge game with a lot that we can pull from. We just want to make sure we keep our options open, and make sure that the decision we land on is what’s best for everyone. We don’t want to be that company that pushes out DLC just for DLC’s sake.”
Battlefield 1943 released on Xbox 360 and PS3 in early July, with a PC version still in the works. It’s been received incredibly well by gamers and critics. Check out the trailer.
