Jurassic World Evolution 2 is surging in popularity on Steam once again, but we keep experiencing the frustrating ‘Ranger Team Can’t Reach Destination’ bug. Can we find a fix?
This pathfinding bug has been present for over a year, and we almost forgot about it. However, with the recent discount on Steam (it’s now £4.99!), we decided to pick it up after playing it on the PS5 originally. The ‘Ranger Team Can’t Reach Destination’ bug is still a menace, but we found a fix we thought we’d share.
How to fix the "Ranger Team Can't Reach Destination" bug in Jurassic World Evolution 2
There are several ways to fix it, although we found the best method is manually opening the gate before assigning the ranger team. Keep the gate open while assigning the task, and once assigned, you can close the gate. This method ensures the destination is reachable and works for other enclosures without needing to open the gates manually each time.
Replacing the Ranger Station can fix it temporarily, or changing to a different Ranger team also works, but often we find that the problem comes back. It’s all a bit random, though, as it doesn’t always pop up, and seems more frequent when using the classic Jurassic Park building sets.
- Open the Gate: Before assigning your Ranger Team, manually open the gate.
- Assign the Team: Select the Ranger Team you want to attach to the building.
- Close the Gate: Once the team is assigned, you can close the gate.
- Temporary Fix: Replacing the Ranger Station can also temporarily resolve the error.
