While Resident Evil has cemented itself in the world of cinema, with three movies to date having been released and a fourth on the way, the series will be rebooting soon.
Once Resident Evil 4: Afterlife is red carpeted, studio bigwigs will be abandoning the Alice story, which has largely vacated from videogame source material.
Horror movie site Bloody Disgusting reports that the reboot is to ”redo the story of a special military unit who fights a powerful, out-of-control supercomputer and hundreds of scientists who have mutated into flesh-eating creatures after a laboratory accident.”
It’s believed to be called Resident Evil Begins. It’s unlikely Milla Jovovich will be starring in the reboot if they plan on ditching the Alice focus, unless they want to off her character. Resident Evil 4: Afterlife is a 3D sequel and will be in cinemas August 27th, 2010.
Have you enjoyed the Resident Evil flicks with Alice? Should they never have happened?
