Sean Brennan, Bethesda’s European managing director, has said their first-person shooter project with Splash Damage is ”a real killer app.”
They don’t want to give anything away yet, except to say quality is along the ”same lines as Fallout 3.” The game has ”so many innovative features” they don’t want to dish on it ”too soon.”
”We’re not announcing the name yet, but it’s a first-person shooter. That’s a product that we believe is a genre-breaker, it’s a real killer app,” said Brennan, speaking with GamesIndustry.biz.
UK Splash Damage’s work on this mystery project is set to be unveiled next month at E3.
”From a quality perspective we’re pitching that along the same lines as Fallout 3. We’ve kept it under lock and key, there are so many innovative features in there we don’t want to reveal them too soon,” he noted. ”We’ve spent significant resources developing the title.”
Teasing indeed, and we’ll have to wait just a little longer to see if it’s truly a ”genre-breaker”.
