The Warcraft universe is big, so it stands to reason Blizzard should hold tournaments with cash prizes. The regionals will take place in Cologne, Germany.
They start on June 26th and end on the 28th, which will decide who gets to duke it out in the global finals this August in Anaheim, California. It's time for WoW 3v3 Arena and Warcraft III.
Well almost time anyway, it's not quite the 26th yet. Two triumphant teams shall emerge from the bloody Arena and net themselves $15,000 and $6000 for their troubles, while the Warcraft III peeps get an undisclosed amount.
"This year’s Warcraft regional finals are approaching fast, with the event set to take place on June 26th-28th in Cologne, Germany," says Blizzard.
"Seeing the best players from Europe and North America battling it out on stage is definitely something you do not want to miss, and if you stop by, not only will you bear witness to the climactic finals, you’ll also be able to attend organised signings with World of Warcraft Game Director Tom "Kalgan" Chilton."
The global winner, which will be found during BlizzCon 2009, get's a whopping $25,000 cheque and endless admiration from fellow WoW nerds.
More importantly, those who dare admit they're friends with these 'people' can get in free apparently to spectate - and grab some time with the StarCraft II beta!
