That whole EA bid for Take-Two won’t be happening again anytime soon says the publishers CFO Eric Brown, in fact they’re thinking much smaller for buyouts.
Specifically they’re keen to increase the line-up in the Asia market, with EA ”underweighted” there at the moment. Franchises and online publishing techs are on the EA buy out radar.
”That’s a deal whose timeframe has come and long gone. We’re just not interested in a large-scale, traditional packaged-good publishing deal,” said Brown, speaking on the Take-Two bid, reports Reuters. It turned into a hostile bid worth $2 billion, but failed to push through.
EA shopping in Asia, who’d have thought that ten years ago?
