The latest DLC for Fallout 3 has been ”hugely successful” for the dev team, with Anchorage reaching ”holy sh*t” levels of return for Bethesda.
Without a doubt Broken Steel’s level cap hike and ending ‘removal’ has been ”the most” sought after of the three, whether it’s the last extra content piece ”remains to be seen.”
”Yes, that’s the third of the three things. Whether it’s the absolute last one remains to be seen,” Bethesda Vault Overseer Pete Hines tells OXM.
”Because it’s been hugely successful. Operation Anchorage vastly exceeded our expectation. It was like “holy shit, we did how many?” And the Pitt was really successful, after a bit of a false start.” False start indeed, no one likes creepy over-sized exclamation marks guys.
”But Broken Steel is the one that. when we first announced all three, this is the one that everyone has been bugging us the most about, because it removes the ending and changes the level cap and lets you play more in that world.”
“I think it’s going to be hugely, hugely popular,” said Hines. Broken Steel wasn’t without a hiccup itself but this time it wasn’t Bethesda’s fault but Microsoft to blame, they went live with an incomplete version across Games For Windows Live - oops.
Want some more DLC for your Capital Wasteland wanderer? How about some Dogmeat armour? No, no, that would be stupid - offering armour for an animal and wanting cash for it.
