For Watchmen fans who’re worried that co-creator Alan Moore is washing his hands of the whole Hollywood adaption, then the game might be for you.
Watchmen: The End is Nigh is based from co-written pieces by Alan Moore reveals Watchmen artist David Gibbons, it deals with the time ”before everything went wrong”.
”Basically, it deals with Rorschach and Night Owl in the days before everything went wrong, and it features a few other characters and villains that are hinted at in the graphic novel,” Gibbons tells Eurogamer.
”…at the time the original comics came out, Mayfair games did a role-playing game that Alan helped write bits of, and it’s completely canon, so this game uses a lot of that less-well known material.”
Asked if Moore is even slightly curious what’s going on over in Hollywood land, Gibbons replied, ”No. Strange isn’t it? But as we were co-creators, he doesn’t have a problem with whatever I do.” So Alan is involved, just the 1987 Alan Moore.
Watchmen: The End is Nigh is being released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC as a downloadable game by Deadline Games.
