A while back some documents surrounding the whole ache between 3D Realms and Take-Two teased that a ”well-known videogame developer” was behind Duke Begins.
The whole lawsuit situation is rather tiresome really, but at least we learn who our mysterious developer is. Take-Two’s counterclaim paperwork fingered Gearbox as the guys.
Though development of the game at this stage ”has for the time being been halted,” the publisher denies the project is in anyway cancelled.
”Under the 2007 Agreement, any modification to the development schedule for the Duke Begins game, following Final Concept Approval (as defined in the 2007 Agreement), is permitted without Apogee’s consent provided that both 2K Games and Gearbox (as defined in the 2007 Agreement) consent to the change,” said the court papers, reports Shacknews.
The rest of this piece just deals with who ”harmed” who, blah blah. Frankly we don’t care because we’re not getting a Duke Nukem Forever out of it! Tired of this 3DR/Take-Two bickering also?
