LucasArts has announced that in honour of the upcoming Death Troopers novel, which arrives October 13th, the MMO Star Wars Galaxies will come down with some undeath itself.
Players will be battling ”horrific new enemies” that have been turned into zombies, through a whole new quest line series launching this fall. LucasArts pledge continued support for SWG.
”The Death Troopers series of adventures will mark the first time that the Star Wars Galaxies game has introduced content inspired by a current novel and given gamers and Star Wars fans the chance to live out these adventures together online,” reads StarWars.com.
”Players will be able to join together to fight horrific new enemies with a frightening affliction.”
The Death Troopers novel, from Random House, details itself: ”The dead are rising: soulless, unstoppable, and unspeakably hungry.” Sounds like many a marketing department to me, especially that ‘unspeakable’ bit. It’s coming this fall sometime anyways.
BioWare’s Star Wars The Old Republic won’t be the death of Galaxies according to LucasArts, who say they’ll continue to support the much altered and ailing MMO. Will BioWare add some undead to their galactic experience? Maybe, but at least they’ll all be voiced!
Do you still adventure in Star Wars Galaxies?
