This Thursday the PlayStation Network will have Red Alert 3’s scenario challenge mode added, it’s called Commander’s Challenge and features 50 unique feats to overcome.
It’s taken from PC exclusive Uprising, and arrives as a completely seperate offering to console gamers. It will also be on Xbox Live but at a later date. Ric Flair, and even Malcolm McDowell!
”In Commander’s Challenge you can play as any of our 3 factions: Allies, Soviets, and the Empire of the Rising Sun. There are 50 single player missions to choose from, each focusing on specialized AI personalities and tactics. Once you complete a mission you unlock a specific unit and several additional missions,” posted Wes Eckhart on the EU PlayStation.Blog.
You don’t play through the add-on like a singleplayer campaign, instead you choose which challenge you want to undertake. This helps you from getting stuck and frustrated apparently.
”For the hardcore players out there we have the notion of par times. While you can take as much time as you need to complete a mission, special awards are given for completing the missions under the listed par time,” continued Eckhart, Commander’s Challenge producer.
It has notable cameo cut scenes from the likes of Ric Flair and others, in the traditional campy style of the Commander & Conquer universe. It arrives this Thursday for $9.99 on the PlayStation Store, and will be coming to XBLA for 800 Microsoft Points in the future.
