ArenaNet's sequel to their popular free-to-play Guild Wars MMO franchise won't hit live servers until next year at the earliest it seems.
Aion: Tower of Eternity, the publisher's latest MMO project, has been delayed until Q4 for release in North America. Guild Wars' active numbers have risen up to near 6 million.
"A full 250 years after the original Guild Wars, massive upheavals, cataclysms, and globe-spanning events have changed the world of Tyria. Human civilization is in decline. Other races are rising up, taking control over large portions of the world; the balance of power has shifted. The dragons have awoken," reads ArenaNet's description.
Concurrent user numbers for City of Heroes/Villains appear to have just crawled back up a little from their all time low - they sat at 13, 823 as of December 2008.
