Superhero factory Marvel have sworn on a stack of mint condition Spidey mags that they’ll be working with Gazillion Entertainment for the next 10 years.
The two will be collaborating on MMO projects tapping into the Marvel catalogue of goodies and villains. Gazillion’s 300-strong operation will be bringing back Marvel Universe Online.
They’ve got quite the schedule of projects lined up too, which is quite a feat for a newly formed company. The first MMO game will be based off the new Marvel property Super Hero Squad, it’ll be a kid-friendly online world due in 2010 having already been in development for a year at Amazing Society in Washington State.
The fresh-faced developer has 300 staffers all dedicated to working on the MMO space, which will include Marvel projects and the new LEGO Universe too, having bought up NetDevil.
Marvel Universe Online was being handled by Cryptic Studios and was cancelled by Microsoft, it was being developed for PC and Xbox 360. Now just being called Marvel Universe it’s being developed by Gargantuan in sunny California, for PC and console too.
Good luck there Gazillion Entertainment! Think they’ll make it to the end of that Marvel deal?
