Capcom US Communications Director Chris Kramer has confirmed that the sequels to Lost Planet and Dead Rising will hit in 2009/10.
Speaking with Joystiq he clarified he means next fiscal year, which starts April 1st 2009 and ends March 31st 2010. Oh, and Capcom is on a "30 year high right now." Yeah, it is.
During the Major Nelson's latest podcast the US Capcom exec informally announced the release window for the two hot properties, later confirming to Joystiq he was referencing next fiscal and not calendar year.
"Capcom’s kind of on a 30 year high right now, it’s a pretty amazing place to be. Between everything we’ve got going right now, between the launch of Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5, and our big titles for next year, Lost Planet 2 and Dead Rising 2," he said.
So we could be blasting even more zombies this year if the Dead Rising 2 team are close to wrapping up. The sequel is not being handled by the original development team but it's understood that both studios have been in regular contact with each other.
