Borderlands quite a scorcher, "best selling launch week" for new IP

Developer Gearbox is chuffed their new IP Borderlands is doing so well, especially given the surrounding releases of big boy sequels.

The studio says it’s the ”fastest selling original property” videogame in 2009. Its total multiplatform sales beat PS3 Uncharted 2.

From the figures released by the NPD, Borderlands ”enjoyed the best selling launch week in 2009 among all new video games IP.” Gearbox have already said a sequel is an absolute certainty in the future. We’ve spent time on Pandora, have you yet?
