The resurrection of the classic action-horror franchise is twitching with life, despite having its developer ‘sacked’ over ”performance issues” a while back now.
This delay is to give the new dev team, the guys behind Afro Samurai, time to ”polish and incorporate all the content” needed to blow our minds. Ex-dev BottleRocket called Namco ”inept.”
”Namco Bandai Games America Inc. is hard at work on Splatterhouse. Development is in full swing and we are committed to bringing it to the Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2010,” Namco told Joystiq.
”This will give us time to polish and incorporate all the content to deliver a top notch game worthy of this classic video game franchise.”
BottleRocket allege they never missed any ”contractually defined milestones” as Namco suggested, but that their ”management of the title was inept.” In any case, Namco’s internal development team now preside over the project, the same ones behind Afro Samurai.
Splatterhouse is being released on Xbox 360 and PS3 early next year.
