The developer, made up of several ex-Tribes staffers, will be reviving the original Tribes game for fans and n00bs to see ”what jetpacks are all about.”
The studio says they bought the rights to all things Tribe last year ”from Activision/Vivendi”. GarageGames will be showcasing their browser-based Tribes 1 at GDC.
”Well Tribes is coming back! We have obtained the IP for the entire Starsiege Universe including Tribes 1. We’ll be showing Tribes 1 off at GDC this next week in San Francisco, so if you will be there, be sure to stop by our booth and check it out,” blogs the developer.
They add that ”the graphics have not been touched. This is the same Tribes that fans will remember and newcomers will see what jetpacks are all about.”
