Martyn Brown of Team 17, the guys behind the deliciously addictive Worms franchise, has said Alien Breed Evolution is XBLA first because of their history.
Microsoft ”showed a lot of faith” in Team 17 during those early days, plus XBLA’s user base ”still leads” over PS3 believes studio boss Brown. Xbox Live is the ”market for the game.”
”I think XBLA still leads PS3 in terms of user base and probably the amount of people buying the thing,” Brown told VG247. ”Plus we have a relationship with Microsoft that’s pretty close - a first party publishing relationship.”
”They showed a lot of faith in us early doors and that’s kind of kept going really. I think they’ve got the same kind of games on there: it’s the same kind of audience really,” he went on.
But Team 17 isn’t against Sony, they just prefer Microsoft is all. ”I’m not suggesting the PS3 is any less than that, but we just feel that’s the market for the game.”
”It will come to PS3 and it will come to PC as well, but initially it’ll be Live Arcade,” he added.
Alien Breed Evolution is being released on Xbox 360 and PC this year, with PS3 sometime next year. See the tantalising trailer below.
