Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is having a launch bash thrown in Leicester Square, "home of the 'Hollywood Premiere'". Activision say it'll "invade the capital" on November 9th.
The premiere will be "compered by a celebrity fan" and gives all a glimpse of the game "on the big screen" ahead of release. An "epic midnight opening" runs at HMV's Trocadero Store.
At least now we know why publisher Activision has priced Modern Warfare 2 so bloody high above everyone else... it's to cover the damn Leicester launch shindig, and unless this 'celebrity' fan happens to be Chuck Norris I doubt many will care for the appearance...
"On November 9th 2009, Modern Warfare 2 will invade the capital with a unique game launch event and screening. In a world’s first, the most highly-anticipated game of all time will be hosting its launch event in Leicester Square, home of the ‘Hollywood Premiere’."
"The screening will be compered by a celebrity fan of the game and give journalists, celebs and fans of the critically-acclaimed Modern Warfare series a chance to see this year’s biggest game on the big screen ahead of its global launch on Tuesday 10th November."
"The event will also be supported by an epic midnight opening at HMV’s flagship Trocadero Store, along with a VIP launch party in a secret underground bunker, headlined by one of the UK’s biggest male artists of 2009." Plan on a trip to the capital to score the game at midnight?
