Activision are changing the Guitar Hero formula some more, and the first thing is no more locked tracks to be earned, with greater emphasis on individuals.
Instead gamers will work to unlock new characters, venues, instruments, and outfits as they progress to stardom. Menus have been trimmed too, which means more time to rock out.
Star Power is no longer a combined effort but once an individual’s fills up to the top it can 'spill over' into the vials of your fellow band members. The Rock Band meter is also dropped as each member now plays to prove themselves and failing means the others tackle a revival meter, which gets harder each time it needs appear.
Below are the twenty-four new tracks confirmed for Guitar Hero 5, which is being released on Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and Wii this September.
