Capcom are giddy with Street Fighter IV’s success so far with the game having launched last Friday, and the first iteration ”in 11 years.”
A new Street Fighter movie is showing this February 28th. It was shot to help bring attention to the franchise with hopes it’ll be drawing in new fans and ”reinvigorating fans of old.”
”In fruition of its policies, Capcom has achieved the feat of breaking the two million copy mark despite the economic crisis with this first iteration of the Street Fighter series in 11 years.” Street Fighter III was released back before the millennium.
”The movie was developed in order to help rebuild the Street Fighter brand by drawing in new fans and reinvigorating fans of old,” said the Japanese publisher.
Will the new Street Fighter movie be a grimacing train wreck? Most likely.
