According to resurfacing rumours an Xbox 360 with Natal possibly infused is due in the second half of 2010, and Aptina lands rights to produce a Natal component.
Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg has previously said Natal won't require users "to reinvest in an entirely new platform" when it arrives; it will work with all current 360 units. A new SKU?
Aptina will be manufacturing 1.3 megapixel CMOS image sensors for use in Natal's cameras, according to DigiTimes' soruces. "...shipments of the new Xbox 360 are slated for the second half of 2010, according to industry sources in Taiwan," they report.
Even Microsoft big boss Balmer got into trouble when he said a new Xbox was coming, but that was all a misunderstanding apparently. "I can tell you that we are not launching a new console in 2010," Greenberg said shortly after 'the incident'.
A new meatier Xbox 360 is highly unlikely, but a Natal SKU? This rumour just won't... die!
