Yosuke Hayachi, producer of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, has said Team Ninja are getting on with things just as fine without Tomonobu Itagaki among them.
Hayachi said "the faces may change" but the "DNA still exists as Team Ninja". Asked why Itagaki is so against the Sigma series they laughed it off, "maybe we should ask him, huh?"
"Personally there's nothing that I would have against the Sigma series," said Hayachi at the GDC in San Francisco. "The DNA still exists as Team Ninja, even though the faces may change. The leader has changed, and the person called the creator was has left. But the essence, the DNA is still there."
"There's no reason why I personally would be against the Sigma series still being there, adding more and being a different branching out of the series," he continued.
"I'll be able to prove that with my game, and not have to speak about my game."
Previously Itagaki has said to produce Sigma 2 for PS3 would be "a loss of face for everyone involved", clearly unhappy it still exists and is heading to PlayStation.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is being released exclusively for PS3 sometime this fall.
