A shift in their business strategy has rendered Phil Harrison’s presidential term at Atari defunct, but he’ll be staying on to ”assist, support and guide”.
Atari has moved away from direct publishing here in Europe, and instead favours a US-centric direction for now. Jeff Lapin has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer.
”Because of a shift of business operations to the US, Phil Harrison will move from the role of president to that of non-executive director of the group. As all board members, he will continue to assist, support and guide the company’s strategy,” said Atari.
Ex-Sony man Phil Harrison became Atari’s president last year in March, but after repeat assassination attempts, biological attacks and unethical interrogation claims… oh wait, sorry I mixed up Atari with ‘24’ for a second there.
Harrison was elbowed out by boardroom ballot - which is much less entertaining.
