Upcoming sci-fi adventure Dark Void has been pushed out of this year and into Capcom’s fourth fiscal quarter, which runs the first three months of next year.
This is to help it avoid getting lampooned in sales by other titles, ”curse you, Halo!” It’ll be great for Dark Void itself ”and for gamers” reassure Capcom, who pledge ”more time for polish.”
It’s delayed into 2010 ”in order to get the game out of the crowded fall game season,” Chris Kramer tells Joystiq.
”The move will be great for the game and for gamers: less competition in the market (curse you, Halo!), more time for polish.” A migration from the holiday season has become expected now that many publishers have noted the negativity of getting squished.
Unfortunately they have all seemed to cotton on at the same time, meaning an avalanche of delayed titles have hit the news these past months. As Joystiq notes, 2010 now shares itself with ”Splinter Cell: Conviction, Bioshock 2, Singularity, Bayonetta, Red Steel 2, and probably Mafia II and Red Dead Redemption.”
Plus the already planned ”…God of War 3, Heavy Rain, MAG, Darksiders, Aliens vs. Predator, Alan Wake, Dante’s Inferno, Mass Effect 2, Sin & Punishment 2, White Knight Chronicles, Split/Second, and Capcom’s own Dead Rising 2 and Lost Planet 2.”
Maybe Christmas 09 wouldn’t be so bad after all? Check out the Dark Void trailer below.
