...Macbeth is "possible." Dante's is a "violent interpretation" of the Divine Comedy, and Macbeth "would be great" with its murders.
"Macbeth the game is something I’ve been thinking about for years, but now, I think the emotional quality that games are achieving and the value level of the acting and the sound work makes it possible,” Knight told IndustryGamers, in an interview.
"The thing is, the unique quality of games is being interactive; it’s about action and killing things and pursuing those mechanics is tricky when bringing in classic media; Dante’s is more of a violent interpretation of the poem for example."
"Macbeth would be great, though; there are witches and a supernatural experience along with plenty of intrigue and murder,” he elaborated. Not too long ago another guy, Marc Ecko, said he'd "completely re-imagined Macbeth" as a videogame too.
"Our adaptation, I think, would have made it relevant to people who wouldn't have otherwise known about this great story. It's unfortunate, because a lot of people just don't know Macbeth," said designer and creator of Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure.
Shakespeare looks to be 'hot' this season, at least in discussion anyway. Do you think such a literary piece could translate into an engaging videogame?
