Figures from an older Sony patent for the PlayStation Move controller reveal a much more ‘complete’ version was planned before cuts were made.
It’s unlikely you’d need a second peripheral as the main ‘wand’ had it all - an analogue stick, a tracker ball for ‘mouse-like’ interfacing - so what gives?
It’s assumed the cost for each of these motion bad boys would have been too high and Sony wanted something much more affordable en masse to get their motion install base skyrocketing. It’s too bad as this ‘wand’ looks all grown-up.
If you want an analogue stick with Move now you have to buy the second peripheral, it’s Sony’s own ‘nunchuk’ if you will. Check out the out dated figure below.
