Microsoft has decided to back the title as a full Natal launch title, meaning it’s getting ”completely reworked” into a bigger game. Boxed?
Because of its higher status now as a Natal launch title that likely means it’ll be boxed at retail, and not just held as an Xbox Live download. ”The hope for us is that it will be a boxed release - we’re still in the dark on that one - but it’s definitely for Natal and will definitely be here for launch,” CVG’s retail placed blabbermouth said.
”We’ve been told it will no longer be free to play, but that it’s been completely reworked into a bigger, richer game than before.”
”They’re putting the final touches to it now. The biggest thing for us is that it just works with Natal’s racing controls. We’re reliably informed it’s very intuitive,” they added.
It’s sudden disappearance from Microsoft’s E3 line-up this year was thought to be the beginning of the end for Joy Ride, but Microsoft commented they were going to ”bring BigPark’s vision to life in 2010”, without mentioning Joy Ride specifically.
A full Natal integration seemed likely given how big Microsoft want it to be. It will be a perfect marriage then between Xbox Live Avatars and Natal - like many of the motion titles.
