The game engine has ”lots of potential” they want to explore, and it’d be a waste not to ”try out more stuff.” There’ll be all new ship suits.
”Normally sequels are just a re-hashing of the ideas in the original,” Cuthbert told G4, ”but for PixelJunk Shooter we still have a ton of ideas on the drawing board and the engine has lots of potential we want to use before moving onto our next idea. It would be a waste not to use it to try out more stuff.”
The Q-Games founder wasn’t big on sharing any of their crazy new ideas, but they’ll be applying what they learnt from fans of the first release.
”We managed to put in all the ship ‘suits’ that we thought up this time around,” he explained, “but there will be a number of new suits to make use of some of the brand new ideas for fluid gimmicks you may or may not see sometime soon.”
PixelJunk Shooter has you pilot a ship around very hazardous caves while trying to rescue survivors. In order to get to them you’ll need to mess about with the games fluid mechanics, and overcome puzzles. Check out the trailer below for PixelJunk mayhem.
