The Xbox 360 launch title not only beat all Sony’s first-party individual sales figures, but it also topped them ”combined”, adds gleeful Greenberg.
”Just in from research team (NPD): Halo 3 has outsold Resistance 1 + 2, Uncharted 1+2, Killzone 2 and God of War III COMBINED….wow”, twittered the Xbox boss, reports VG247. Microsoft revealed in early ‘08 that Halo 3 had cleared 8.1m sales worldwide.
Sony says that both Uncharted games have moved over 4.5m, while God of War III is said to have shifted 1.1m around the globe rather quickly. Killzone 2 and Resistance: Fall of Man both hit 1m. There’s no sales data for the Resistance sequel.
This is a mighty achievement indeed for Microsoft, and especially Bungie. Aaron Greenberg is the puppet master behind Microsoft’s E3 2010 press conference.
