It was ”important to explain” where they’re going with it. Denny boasts Sony has a lot more announcements ”to come at E3 as well.” Hope so.
Recently GDC event boss Meggan Scavio said it wasn’t ”about making news, it’s not about announcing things”, with focus on the developers themselves in the future. Sony’s Michael Denny disagrees: ”The time felt right to announce something new at GDC.”
”It’s just a very exciting time to show it off,” said the top executive. ”We’ve already released a lot of content this year, there’s a lot to come, we’ve got a lot of announcements to come at E3 as well.” This year’s Los Angeles E3 event takes place June 15th to the 17th.
“With it launching later in the year we thought it was important to explain to people where we’re going with it. The software’s in a good state to put in people’s hands.”
“In terms of announcements generally in relation to PlayStation platforms and particularly games that are coming later in the year, absolutely,” he affirmed, asked if we can expect to see big projects getting revealed. “Very exciting announcements, I’m sure.”
PlayStation Move has undoubtedly been the greatest story to escape GDC 2010, with Sony holding an off-site press conference to corral the crazy unveiling.
