Pay that should have been there’s after Modern Warfare 2 was completed. Acti also used security to ‘guard exits’ and ”forced” staff interrogations.
It gives a little more detail about what happened when the studio’s two founders were fired by the publishing giant. The suit claims that 40 percent of the bonus pay was given to employees with the rest held back to ensure Modern Warfare 3 was under way.
It claims Acti was ”demanding” Infinity Ward ”develop, produce, complete and publish” the next instalment by November 2011 or they would not receive any money due. Acti denies the allegations, particularly when accused of forming a ”police state-like atmosphere”.
The employees who left did so because they’re bosses were fired, bonus money was withheld and IW became a ”hostile work place” with security and superiors grilling them relentlessly in ”secret interrogations”.
Reportedly 50% of the studio left during the ‘exodus’ this year. The ex-staffers are now demanding $216 million in ”punitive damages and unpaid bonuses,” reports Kotaku.
