It’s called Shadows of the Damned and is about a man’s true love pinched by demons, so it’s a trip into hell for us. It’s got a ”punk rock edge to it.”
It’s a ”psychological action thriller” according to the official description. We play as Garcia Hotspur who wants the love of his life back, and to kill lots of demons in the process. ”This game has a punk rock edge to it,” said Mikami-san.
”You can see Suda’s trademark flair and style everywhere in this game. There are lots of light moments as well,” continued the Resi Evil creator. ”But of course, you can see a lot of influence from Mikami-san in the core gameplay mechanics,” added No More Heroes creator Goichi Suda, aka Suda 51 of Grasshopper Manufacture.
”This game is really intense, however you also see some light moments as well. It’s a very dark game. And it’s one of the greatest games I’ve ever worked on in my lifetime.” Shadows of the Damned, or just ‘Damned’ as Suda51 asked gamers to shorten it to, releases on Xbox 360 and PS3 summer 2011.
