Beaumont is reported to have not recovered from a heart attack yesterday, in the early hours. An industry figure with plenty of big friends.
”He was promoted to the role of COO at Capcom in April 2008 having served as both senior vice president and executive vice president,” reports MCV. Beaumont began at Capcom in 2005, but before that was executive VP of publishing at Midway.
The industry vet had enjoyed over 25 years in videogames, with past badges of honour including Warner Interactive, Activision, Data East, Mindscape, Psygnosis and Atari.
Capcom say they’re ”still recovering” from this sudden loss, leaving them with ”a deep sadness”, and remember Beaumont for his ”humor, passion and commitment to Capcom and our industry.”
”He was a great leader and visionary and his spirit will carry on in everything that we do. Please join us in memory of Mark,” read the Capcom-Unity blog. Please join us here at Strategy Informer in extending our condolences to the Beaumont family.
