In an unsurprising move, Major Nelson has confirmed that 120GB HDDs and the Memory Units for Xbox 360 are being left to run out at retail.
They’ll produce no more of them, as the April 6th dashboard update has USB device compatibility for Xbox 360, and 250GB HDDs now sell.
Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hryb told Joystiq that ”the channel is being drained” of the two storage options for Microsoft’s next-gen console. The Memory Unit only catered to 64MB of space, which is absolutely laughable compared to the new USB 16GB support.
The Major also revealed an Xbox 360-branded SanDisk range of USB 16GB sticks will be retailing this May, complete with the April 6th dashboard update pre-installed. Microsoft will now also be selling 250GB HDDs separately from special 360 bundles.
