However more Elite and Special bundles have sold than before, Xbox Live accounts are up 35 percent. No worries, they’ve raked in $19.02bn.
Thanks to the launch of Windows 7 this last quarter, Microsoft has seen a record breaking $19.02bn in revenue, with Xbox 360 division providing $2.9bn of that. This behemoth doesn’t even need a videogames division, but they want it all the same.
While the number of consoles sold may have fallen 13 percent year-on-year, consumers have instead bought bigger - like Elite and Special bundles bigger. Xbox Live membership has grown 35 percent bringing it up to 23 million.
Net sales may have been down but net income sure wasn’t, with Q2 2009’s $130 million beaten by this Q2 2010’s at $375 million - well done Entertainment & Devices Division. Let’s not forget that Project Natal launches this year. Cha-ching!
