If you own a PS3 and are a little fearful of BioWare’s Mass Effect 2 arriving as a sloppy port then listen to the soothing words of producer Jess Huston.
He says it’s ”as good, if not better” than the Xbox 360 copy. The PS3 release also includes all DLC to date and ”three years’ worth” of engine updates.
”Oftentimes when you go to the PS3 you see stuff like down-ressing and using a smaller than 720p resolution to try and get back some of the framerate,” said Huston. ”We haven’t done that. We really wanted to try to make it as good, if not better than the Xbox version.”
The game’s visual are kept intact and ”three years’ worth of engine updates” are included alongside all the released downloadable content, which tallies up to $100 and around 20 hours more game play. It’s also got an interactive comic intro to decide plot points.
Mass Effect 2 releases on PS3 in January 2011.
