Majesco has issued a press release announcing a new digital title, Bloodrayne: Betrayal based on the popular license starring the sexy vampiress. The game is due to be released on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade this Summer.
The press release describes BloodRayne: Betrayal as a 2D side-scrolling action title. The plot finds the player as Rayne, ”who is begrudgingly recruited by the vampire hunting Brimstone Society for one final mission.” She teams up with ”a mysterious new friend” - which implies co-op play - ”to stop an evil vampire massacre.” The game promises new characters, environmental puzzles and a large array of weapons, including Rayne’s signature arm blades.
”It’s been a long time since Rayne captivated players with her bold mix of brutality and beauty, and fans have been hounding us to release another BloodRayne installment,” said Jesse Sutton, CEO, Majesco Entertainment. ”We are excited to once again partner with the creative and committed team at WayForward to bring Rayne back. BloodRayne: Betrayal delivers the action-packed experience franchise fans have been waiting for in a digital format that’s also accessible for new players unfamiliar with Rayne’s over-the-top, stylized gameplay.”
A teaser was also released, but imparts no real information.
