Battle: Los Angeles officially revealed

After being accidentally leaked on a Russian site, Konami has officially revealed Battle: Los Angeles, a licensed first person shooter based on the film of the same name coming out March 11, 2011. The surprise is that it is a digital download title for PC, Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, instead of a full retail title.

According to Konami’s press release, players will battle the alien onslaught in the single player campaign with an arsenal of weapons throughout the game like an assault rifle, sniper rifle, rocket launcher, frag grenades, and a turret gun. The game will feature destructible environments using the Havok engine. The game also features unlockable content, trophy support, and 5.1 surround sound.

The game will be released on Steam, XBLA and PSN in April.
