Electronic Arts may have eschewed Valve’s Steam digital distribution service due to their policies on downloadable content, even pulling games like Crysis 2, Dragon Age 2 and ostensibly Battlefield 3, but they state that the publisher’s relationship with Valve is still on good terms.
“We have a long history of distributing Valve products and I think for every title they will look for who will do the best job. There’s no strain on that relationship because we’re competing in one space.” said Electronic Arts’ European head Jens Uwe Intat.
Despite this, it seems EA will be even more of a competitor for Steam as EA chief of operations officer Peter Moore recently announced that third party games would be appearing on EA’s own distribution service Origin.
