DICE general manager Karl Troedesson addressed the Battlefield 3 controversy amongst console owners regarding the frame rate. Troedesson stated that every console Battlefield game ran at 30fps, and found that running the game up to 60fps was possible, but would force them to scale back in areas they didn’t want to, such as textures and AI.
Troedesson also bragged that the AI was some of the best ever in a Battlefield game. For instance, friendly AI will figure out their their cover was blown out and will seek out new cover, which became necessary with the fully destructible environments.
