Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has announced that Motorstorm 3, aka Motorstorm Apocalypse, has been canceled in Japan. The game was delayed for release there due to the earthquake and ensuing tsunami that devastated the country.
No reason was given for the cancellation. It’s probable that the gameplay itself is the reason the game has been canceled, since it uses natural disasters as player powers, including earthquakes, which would be too raw for a country that is still suffering from the aftereffects of the calamity.
For those Japanese gamers who don’t mind the mechanic, or might want some catharsis from the disaster, the PlayStation 3 is a region-free machine, so imports will run fine on their PS3’s.
