Looks like Sony won’t put up with the rootkey exploit without a legal fight, and have filed suit against George “Geohot” Hotz and his fail0verflow team. The lawsuit specifically Hotz, Hector Martin and Sven Peter as well as 100 other individuals for revealing the exploit.
Sony contests that said defendants are in violation of DMCA under U.S. law, due to the publication of the PS3′s encryption routines and subsequent release of Hotz’s firmware 3.55 jailbreak.
