PlayStation Network will be down from 16:00 GMT on Thursday to 2:00 GMT early Friday. Players will not be able to access the PlayStation Store, PSN Account Management or PSN Account Registration. Gamers may be able to play online if they log in prior to the shutdown at 16:00.
Analysis: This repeated downtime is fairly odd if all that is being worked on is maintenance. One might suspect that Sony is under siege from external intrusion and the company is constantly adding new security measures.
