A small 18MB patch, version 1.1.12.0, has been released for the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The patch has done two things which have upset gamers. The first is that it has broken the Large Address Aware (LAA) mode, which helped many players get around crashing and texture corruption issues. The other major change is that the game can no longer be launched outside of Steam.
Understandably, this has upset players, as some forum threads, such as here and here, have been negative towards the change - so much so, the first forum thread was locked.
A major 1.2 patch is coming to all three platforms (PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) over a week from now, and will reportedly fix many of the glitches that have plagued the game, such as texture issues and quest bugs.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on the 11th November.
