The tech is a real ”game-changer” for shooter fans. The leaked ‘Back to Karkand’ DLC is also true, and accompanies limited copies of Battlefield 3.
There will be pre-order goodies for Battlefield 3 confirms DICE and a Limited Edition is also planned. The ‘Back to Karkand’ DLC includes four Battlefield 2 maps recreated and entirely updated to Frostbite 2’s standards. It will sell separately later in the year.
”We are gearing up for a fight and we’re here to win,” said DICE’s Karl Magnus Troedsson.
”Where other shooters are treading water Battlefield 3 innovates. Frostbite 2 is a game-changer for shooter fans. We call it a next-generation engine for current-generation platforms.”
”We wanted to create the most immersive and emotionally powerful Battlefield game ever and we needed new technology to deliver on our vision,” added Patrick Bach.
”Battlefield 3 preserves the franchise’s signature sandbox style and even brings back classic fan favourites like jets, going prone and 64-player multiplayer on PC.”
Battlefield 3 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC later in 2011.
