The publisher has trademarked the name under Capcom Japan. Ixion, in mythology, killed his father and was sentenced to eternity on a burning wheel.
It may not be going the route of the underworld though as the myth surrounding Ixion also involved Mount Olympus and essentially, erm, having it off with a cloud in the shape of Hera, Zeus’ wife, which apparently ending up creating the Centaur race.
Allegedly Ixion was the first ever in Greek mythology to slay his own kin, although the guy was actually his father-in-law and so technically bound only by marriage.
Capcom announced Dragon’s Dogma as a new IP in April.
