Warner Bros. Interactive has announced that the publisher has shipped over 4.6M units of Batman: Arkham City since its release last week on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The number represents a doubling of units shipped in the same time period for its predecessor, Arkham Asylum, in 2009.
Arkham City is also the current highest rated game on both the PS3 and 360, with Metacritic scores of 96 and 95 respectively as of today.”The true test for any game is what the players think and we have been thrilled by their reaction to Batman: Arkham City,” stated Rocksteady’s game director Sefton Hill. “The team at Rocksteady put every ounce of effort into making the best Batman experience we possibly could, so we are overwhelmed by the incredible feedback from the community.”
Strategy Informer gave the game a rare 10/10 review score, which can be read here.
Batman: Arkham City will be released on 15th November in North America and 18th November in Europe for PC. The game will be a Games for Windows Live title, meaning it will include Live Achievements and Xbox Live messaging.
